Assignments for Monday, 11/7

Discrete Math:
Today we begin our study of Probability by first looking at Counting Methods.  My objective for this unit is to show you that investing your money in a mutual fund is the better way to earn your first million dollars versus challenging the laws of probability at the casino.
Do 12-1: 7-24, 27-32, 35-42, 51-53

We're halfway through the semester and many of you need a reminder about taking care of business.  For example, Friday was a Flex day – did you check Moodle and do your assignment???  (Hint: 22 of you didn’t…).  It’s still not too late to get partial credit for your project (7 of you) or your C11 Test (11 of you) or your C11:3-4 Quiz (5 of you) or your Graph Theory Test (4 of you) or your Graph Theory Matching Quiz (4 of you) or your Fair Division Follow-up Questions (5 of you).  All these missing assignments count as ZERO!

Algebra II:
Today we begin our study of Quadratic Equations (They’re the ones with an x2). Quadratic Equations (like linear equations) model many aspects of the world around us – the first that comes to my mind is projectile motion – the free flight of objects through the air under the influence of gravity.
Do 5-1: 1-12, 16, 19, 21-22, 24, 27-29, 31, 34, 38, 54
