Assignments for Monday, 11/19/2012

Algebra II:
Students used linear and quadratic regression to model data and make predictions for various story problems.
Worksheet found here:  5-1 Modeling Data with Linear and Quadratic Equations
Answers found here: 5-1 Modeling Data with Linear and Quadratic Equations ANSWERS

Video Presentation:  Numb3rs “In Security”

In this episode of Numb3rs, Don knows that his actions have led to the death of a protected witness, and assumes that he therefore made the wrong decision about whether or not to interact with her. To try to find out the truth, Charlie uses a Classification And Regression Tree (CART) Analysis to try to analyze Don's motivations and determine whether he was actually at fault. This statistical method has applications in a variety of fields, including in medicine.
